Year-Round Property Care
Landscape Maintenance in Collingwood & Georgian Bay
Your property, cared for year-round whether you are here or not, by a team that is reliable, proactive, and personally accountable.

Your Property Deserves Year-Round Care, Even When You're in the City
If you are like most of our maintenance clients around Blue Mountain and Craigleith, you spend most of the year in Toronto, Oakville, or Mississauga. You pull up to the property in May to find two months of overgrown beds, or you realize in September that nobody did the fall cleanup and the place you love has sat untouched since October. When you only get to enjoy your Georgian Bay property for six to ten weekends a year, just finding a company that reliably shows up is the first challenge.
The problem runs deeper than appearances. A neglected property deteriorates faster, and it quietly signals to neighbours and future buyers that nobody is looking after it. For a property that represents a serious investment, and that sets the scene for your best weekends of the year, that is not good enough. If your last maintenance company stopped showing up, you should not have to wonder whether the next one will.
We know you are not here most of the time, and that is exactly why clients like you choose us. After every visit, you receive a summary and photos of the work completed, so you always know what has been done, what is coming next, and who to call with a question. We maintain properties across the Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Thornbury, and Georgian Bay corridor, and GTA-based second-home owners make up a large share of our maintenance clients. This service was built for your situation.
What Year-Round Property Care Actually Looks Like
Spring Care
Winter damage assessment and a full property cleanup to bring your landscape back to life after a Georgian Bay winter. Debris removal, garden bed edging, fresh mulch, planting bed preparation, pruning of shrubs and ornamental grasses, irrigation startup and inspection, and the first mowing of the season.
Summer Care
Regular lawn care through the peak growing season: mowing, edging, weeding in beds and hardscape joints, selective pruning and deadheading, seasonal colour plantings, pest and disease monitoring, fertilization, and irrigation monitoring and adjustment to handle the swings of a Georgian Bay summer.
Fall Care
Thorough winterization to protect your property through the cold months: leaf cleanup and collection, perennial and ornamental grass cutback, garden bed winterization, a mulch refresh for root insulation, burlap wrapping for sensitive plantings, irrigation blow-out, and final lawn prep before the freeze.
Winter Care
Off-season monitoring and planning to keep your property protected and your spring slot secured: checks for snow and ice damage, referrals to trusted snow removal partners in the Collingwood and Blue Mountain corridor, and design conversations for future improvements while the ground is too frozen to build.
One Team for Your Entire Property
Most maintenance companies focus on mowing and basic trimming. Our maintenance clients get a full-property team that handles the lawn, the planting beds, the trees and shrubs, the hardscape, the irrigation, the lighting checks, and the seasonal structural prep. For a second-home owner managing a Collingwood property from the city, that means one relationship, one invoice, and one crew that knows the property, instead of five different contractors to coordinate from Toronto.
Many clients start with maintenance and eventually ask us to take on a larger design project. The team that has spent two seasons learning your property, the drainage patterns, the irrigation quirks, the mature trees worth protecting, is the ideal team to redesign it. When you are ready to talk about a patio, a water feature, or a full transformation, you are working with people who already know your property inside and out. That history is worth something, and it shows in the finished work.
Why Property Owners Trust Retreat
After-Visit Summaries
Every maintenance visit is documented and sent to you with photos, so you know what was done, what was noticed, and what is next, even if you have not been to the property in weeks.
One Point of Contact
You have a named contact at Retreat, not a general inbox. The same person who knows your property handles your account, season after season.
Consistent Crew
The same team visits your property year after year, so they know your plants, your irrigation system, and the spots that need extra attention. Consistency is part of the service.
No Surprises Policy
If we notice something during a visit that needs attention beyond the scheduled scope, we flag it and wait for your approval. Nothing is added to your invoice without a conversation first.
Client Testimonial
We had our entire property transformed by Retreat Landscaping. They updated the 30 year old interlock with beautiful stone paving, added a water feature that provides much needed hydration for all the wild birds that visit the property. The trees and shrubs planted were all healthy and now well established. Patrick and his team excavated first and added much needed drainage, we are one of the only lots that doesn't flood in the neighborhood. Absolutely loved working with Retreat and highly recommend.
Common Questions About Landscape Maintenance
Our maintenance is full-property care, not just mowing. Depending on the season, we handle lawn mowing and edging, garden bed cleanup and weeding, pruning, fresh mulch, seasonal planting, pest and disease monitoring, fertilization, irrigation startup and winterization, perennial and ornamental grass cutback, and plant protection for winter. See the seasonal breakdown above for what happens through the year.
Yes, and it is exactly the situation most of our maintenance clients are in. We serve second-home owners from Toronto, Oakville, Etobicoke, and Mississauga who are at their Georgian Bay property for six to ten weekends a year. After every visit, you receive a summary and photos of what was done, so you always know the state of your property, even when you are in the city. Communication is built into the service, not added as an afterthought.
It depends on your plan. Typical residential maintenance is weekly or bi-weekly through the growing season from May to October, plus dedicated spring cleanup and fall winterization visits. Properties with complex plantings or larger lots often benefit from more frequent attention during peak growth. We will recommend a schedule after walking your property and understanding what you are looking for.
Snow removal is not our primary offering, but we can refer trusted snow removal partners in the Collingwood and Blue Mountain corridor, companies we know personally and are comfortable recommending. If you are looking for a single source for winter property care, let us know during your consultation and we will make the introduction.
Maintenance pricing varies by property size, visit frequency, and scope, and unlike our design-build work, it has no large project minimum. It is quoted to fit your property and your plan. The best way to get an accurate picture is to request a consultation, so we can walk the property, understand what you are looking for, and put together a plan that fits.
Yes. We maintain properties we designed and properties we did not. For an existing landscape, onboarding includes a full property assessment so our crew understands what they are caring for: what was planted and when, how the drainage behaves, and what the irrigation system covers. After one full season, your crew will know the property as well as any other on their route.
