Year-Round Property Care
Landscape Maintenance in Collingwood & Georgian Bay
Your property, cared for year-round whether you're here or not. Reliable, proactive, and personally accountable.

Your Collingwood Property Deserves Year-Round Care, Even When You're in Toronto
Most of our landscape maintenance clients in Blue Mountains and Craigleith live in Toronto, Oakville, or Mississauga the majority of the year. They pull up to their property in May and find two months of overgrown beds. Or they discover in September that nobody did the fall cleanup, and the property they love has been sitting untouched since October. For second-home owners who get to enjoy their Georgian Bay property for only six to ten weekends a year, finding a maintenance company that simply shows up is the first challenge.
The problem runs deeper than appearances. A neglected property deteriorates faster, and it signals to neighbours and potential buyers that it isn't cared for. For a property representing a significant financial investment, and one that forms the backdrop for your best weekends of the year, that's not acceptable. The previous maintenance company stopped showing up. You shouldn't have to wonder whether this one will.
We know you're not here most of the time. That's exactly why clients like you choose us. After every visit to your property, you receive a summary and photos of the work completed. You always know what's been done, what's coming next, and who to call if you have a question. Retreat maintains properties across the Collingwood, Blue Mountains, Thornbury, and Georgian Bay corridor, and second-home owners from the GTA make up a significant portion of our maintenance clients. This service was built for your situation specifically.

December – MarchOne Team for Your Entire Property
Most maintenance companies focus on mowing and basic trimming. Retreat's maintenance clients get a full-property team that handles lawn, planting beds, trees and shrubs, hardscape maintenance, irrigation systems, lighting checks, and seasonal structural preparation. For second-home owners managing their Collingwood property from the city, this means one relationship, one invoice, and one crew that knows the property. Not five different contractors to coordinate from Toronto.
Many clients start with maintenance and eventually ask Retreat to handle a larger design project. The same team that has spent two seasons learning your property, the drainage patterns, the irrigation quirks, the mature trees worth protecting, is the ideal team to redesign it. When you're ready to talk about a patio, a water feature, or a full outdoor transformation, you'll be working with people who already know your property inside and out. That history is worth something, and it shows in the finished work.
Why Property Owners Trust Retreat
After-Visit Summaries
Every maintenance visit is documented and sent to you with photos. You'll know what was done, what was noticed, and what's next, even if you haven't been to the property in weeks.
One Point of Contact
You have a named contact at Retreat, not a general inbox. The same person who knows your property handles your account, season after season.
Consistent Crew
The same team visits your property year after year. They know your plants, your irrigation system, and the spots that need extra attention. Consistency is part of the service.
No Surprises Policy
If we notice something during a visit that needs attention beyond the scheduled scope, we flag it and wait for your approval. Nothing added to your invoice without a conversation first.
Client Testimonial
We had our entire property transformed by Retreat Landscaping. They updated the 30 year old interlock with beautiful stone paving, added a water feature that provides much needed hydration for all the wild birds that visit the property. The trees and shrubs planted were all healthy and now well established. Patrick and his team excavated first and added much needed drainage, we are one of the only lots that doesn't flood in the neighborhood. Absolutely loved working with Retreat and highly recommend.
Common Questions About Landscape Maintenance in Collingwood
Our maintenance service is full-property care, not just mowing. Depending on the season, we handle lawn mowing and edging, garden bed cleanup and weeding, pruning, fresh mulch installation, seasonal planting, pest and disease monitoring, fertilization, irrigation startup and winterization, perennial and ornamental grass cutback, and plant protection for the winter season. See our seasonal breakdown above for a detailed view of what happens each season.
Yes, and this is exactly the situation most of our maintenance clients are in. We serve second-home owners from Toronto, Oakville, Etobicoke, and Mississauga who are at their Georgian Bay property for six to ten weekends per year. After every visit, you receive a summary and photos of what was done. You'll always know the state of your property, even when you're in the city. Communication is built into the service, not added as an afterthought.
Visit frequency depends on your service plan. Typical residential maintenance includes weekly or bi-weekly visits during the growing season from May through October, plus dedicated spring cleanup and fall winterization visits. Some properties with complex plantings or larger lots benefit from more frequent attention during peak growing periods. We'll recommend a schedule after walking your property and understanding what you're looking for.
Snow removal is not Retreat's primary offering. However, we can refer trusted snow removal partners in the Collingwood and Blue Mountains corridor, companies we know personally and are comfortable recommending. If you're looking for a single-source solution for winter property care, let us know during your consultation and we'll make the introduction.
Maintenance pricing varies by property size, visit frequency, and service scope. The $25,000 minimum that applies to our design-build projects does not apply to maintenance. Maintenance is quoted based on your specific property and plan. The best way to get an accurate picture is to request a consultation so we can walk the property, understand what you're looking for, and put together a plan that fits.
Yes. We maintain properties we've designed and properties we haven't. For an existing landscape, the onboarding process includes a full property assessment so our crew understands what they're caring for: what was planted and when, what the drainage situation looks like, and what the irrigation system covers. After one full season, your crew will know the property as well as they know any other on their route.
